AM Mushroom Tonic 120 Serves: what you are buying
Two named mushroom extracts, one set dose, and a pouch that lasts four months.
Two Mushrooms, One Serve.
Half a teaspoon carries 1,000mg of Cordyceps militaris extract and 1,000mg of Lion's Mane extract. That is 2,000mg of mushroom extract per 2g serve, both species named on the label.
Stir Into Your Coffee.
No sweetener, no colour, no flavouring and no caffeine. On its own the powder is slightly earthy with a hint of nuttiness, and near undetectable stirred into coffee, tea or a smoothie.
Four Months A Pouch.
One hundred and twenty serves in a 240g stand-up pouch with a zip seal. At one serve a day that is four months, and it works out to $0.75 a serve against $1.33 for the 30-serve tin.
What is in each serve
Two mushroom extracts per half-teaspoon (2g) serve: Cordyceps extract (Cordyceps militaris) 1,000mg and Lion's Mane extract (Hericium erinaceus) 1,000mg. That is the whole label. No sweetener, no colour, no flavouring, no caffeine.
- Serving Size: 1/2 teaspoon (2g)
- Servings Per Container: 120
- Cordyceps Extract (Cordyceps militaris) 1000 mg
- Lion’s Mane Extract (Hericium erinaceus) 1000 mg
- No sweeteners, colour or flavouring. No caffeine.
How To Take It
Half a teaspoon, stirred into your morning drink. That is the entire routine.
- Half A Teaspoon, Morning. Measure half a teaspoon from the pouch in the morning. The pouch has no spoon inside, so use a regular half-teaspoon measure from the kitchen drawer.
- Stir It Into A Drink. Tip the powder into whatever you are already drinking and stir. It dissolves into hot drinks and blends into a smoothie. On its own in water it tastes slightly earthy and nutty; in coffee it is near undetectable.
- Zip It, Store It Dry. Press the zip closed after each serve and keep the pouch in a cool, dry cupboard. One serve a day gets you four months from a single pouch at $0.75 a serve.

Common questions
What do the mushrooms do?
We do not make health claims for these, and you should be wary of anyone who does. It is a food: two named mushroom extracts at a stated dose. What they are and how much is in each serve is on the label, and that is what you are paying for.
How much do I take, and when?
Half a teaspoon (2g), once a day. AM is the morning pouch: stir it into their first coffee or tea. It also mixes into hot water or a smoothie.
What does it taste like?
Slightly earthy with a hint of nuttiness. In water you can taste it. In coffee, tea or a smoothie it is near undetectable. Reviewers keep it in their morning coffee.
Is there any sugar or sweetener in it?
No. There is no sweetener, colour or flavouring, and no caffeine. The only ingredients on the label are the two mushroom extracts.
Is it gluten-free? Vegan?
The label lists two mushroom extracts and nothing else. We do not print a gluten-free or vegan claim because neither is on the label.
Are the mushrooms organic?
The blend is labelled as organic Cordyceps and Lion's Mane. No lab report is published for this product, so it does not appear on our testing page.
How is this different from the AM Tonic 30-serve tin?
Same powder, same half-teaspoon serve, same two extracts at 1,000mg each. The tin holds 30 serves and comes with a serving spoon. This pouch holds 120 serves, has a zip top and no spoon, and works out to $0.75 a serve instead of $1.33.
Can kids take it?
No. Like everything we sell, not suitable for anyone under 18, or for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you take any medication, check with your GP first.
Is there a bulk option?
This is the bulk option. One pouch is 120 serves, four tins' worth, at one price of NZD 89.95 with no tiers. If you want a smaller amount, the 30-serve tin is on its own page.
Why does this pack carry a best-before date?
This stock is from the original Forest Finds run. It is sealed and labelled best before August 2026. That date has now passed. A best-before is a quality date, not a safety date: the powder may clump a little more than a fresh run would, and the price reflects that. If you would rather have a current-dated pack, the 30-serve tin is the one to pick.

Formerly Forest Finds. Same Auckland team behind NoWhey, now on the same site as your protein and creatine.
From the NoWhey team: "Two mushroom extracts, 1,000mg each, half a teaspoon in your morning coffee. This is the 120-serve pouch of the same powder that goes in the tin, so it comes out at 75 cents a serve instead of $1.33."
